Due to the HUGE Crib Recall we went Crib Shopping today. We have a drop-side crib and though ours was not specifically mentioned in the recall- they are now saying that NO Drop-Side Cribs are safe and highly recommending that parents replace them. You can get the details on the recall HERE.
I know it is a Big Expense and a Huge Hassle, but my husband and I just don't like to take chances when it comes to our kiddos.
Here is the great thing...I totally ignored this before, because up until today I have never been a huge BRU fan. (I hate to coupon there because the coupons never work and the staff has always been hard to deal with up until today. There were a bunch of new, HELPFUL staff and though the coupons still beeped- it was no big deal....anyway... They are having a
HUGE Trade-in Event.
(You can get the details HERE)
If you trade in your old or new: Car Seat, Stroller, High Chair, Bassinet, Crib, Play Yard, Toddler Bed, or Travel System they will give you a 25% off an Item Coupon. Plus, you can Save an additional 10% if you open up a BRU Charge Card. (That is the only coupon you can combine with the 25% Off)...So you can save 35% Off an item.
We went to a couple of thrift stores to see if they had any inexpensive items we could trade in- no luck, but you may want to try. We ended up at Walmart purchasing a $15 Umbrella Stroller (cheapest one they had) so we could trade it in and get the 25% Off Coupon.
Here is how the deal broke down
$169 Price of Crib HERE
-59.15 (Less the 35% Discount)
+$15.00 (What I paid for the stroller)
Total OOP: $124.85
Total Saved: $44.15
You could save even more if you have something you can trade in- we are still using everything. Even the crib that we will no longer be using is going to be used for a head board and foot board on our 3 year old son's bed.
ALSO: Don't forget to ALWAYS Grab your FREE Copies of BabyTalk & American Baby Magazines every time you go to BRU- Each Mag has 3-4 baby related coupons in every issue!!!
